Selected Writings of Nichiren
Nichiren (日蓮, 1222–1282) was a Japanese Buddhist monk of the Kamakura period who taught that the Lotus Sūtra — and specifically the practice of chanting its title, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo — is the supreme teaching for the present age. His writings include doctrinal treatises, letters of encouragement, and formal remonstrances addressed to the rulers of Japan.
